Samsung Galaxy S22 series camera modules are one of the most common leaks and their specs are said to have improved over time. Most of the attention has been devoted to configuring the S22 Ultra, but today’s Ice Universe developer reveals details of the Vanilla cameras and Plus models, both of which use the same hardware.
With a 50-megapixel sensor in the main camera, a 1 / 1.57-inch sensor starts with a 1.0-micrometer pixel and an aperture of f / 1.8. This is similar to the Samsung GN5 and Sony IMX766 sensors (Samsung loves a dual source for the camera sensors). By comparison, the S21 and S21’s 12-megapixel main camera has a 1 / 1.76-inch sensor with 1.8-micron pixels.
Of course, the S22 series uses clustered pixels, so at 12.5 megapixels the effective pixel size is 2.0 microns. The camera is shifting from its current lossless digital zoom focus to the more traditional 3x optical zoom (aperture f / 2.4). It will be a 10 megapixel sensor with 1 / 3.94 inch optical size and 1.0 micron pixels.

This camera is equipped with a 12 megapixel sensor for the ultra-wide camera: 1 / 2.55 inches with an aperture of 1.4 microns and f / 2.2. The same goes for the S21 series. The selfie camera will be similar to the S21 / S21, with a 10 megapixel sensor (1 / 3.24 inch, 1.22 micrometers) with an aperture of f / 2.2.
Galaxy S22 Ultra camera details were detailed in an earlier reveal. Basically a 108 megapixel main camera (extended HM3 sensor), a 12 megapixel ultra wide angle lens, a 10x 10 megapixel periscope and a 3x 10 megapixel telephoto module (looks different from the S22 / S22). Like the previous two Ultras, the selfie camera is expected to have a resolution of 40 megapixels.
According to Cat, the Samsung Galaxy S22 will have a 6.06-inch screen and the S22 will have a 6.55-inch screen. Here is a comparison of the size of your screen protectors. Both should have flat screens, while the ultra screen should be curved.
